Covid-19 Response

Your safety is incredibly important.

Play therapy and counseling, because relationship based, work best if performed in person. Because of this, I am taking all necessary precautions to ensure your family's safety. Precautions include:

  • I have been fully vaccinated but will continue to take all safety precautions
  • Insuring both therapist and client are symptom free prior to appointment
  • Temperature checks must be preformed before each appointment
  • Clients will wait in their car prior to appointment to minimize people in shared spaces
  • Hand sanitizer will be available as you enter the building and masks will be worn as appropriate
  • All toys and therapy items will be thoroughly disinfected prior to each client use

Every person and their needs or comfort level are different, and we can absolutely discuss any additional considerations. I have been fully vaccinated but will take all necessary safety precautions. Any questions or concerns- please feel free to ask!

The "No surprises act" and Good faith estimates

The No Surprises Act was passed in December 2020, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, with the aim of protecting consumers from receiving unexpected medical bills.

The Good Faith Estimate provision of the No Surprises Act federally mandates that healthcare providers must give clients an estimate of anticipated healthcare items and services, using what is called a “Good Faith Estimate.” This took effect on January 1, 2022.

What is a Good Faith Estimate?

It is an estimate of the total expected costs of non-emergency healthcare items or services. It:

  • Intends to offer predictability & transparency in how much clients will be charged for healthcare services prior to their appointment.
  • Includes all regularly scheduled appointments (i.e. therapy sessions).
  • Does NOT include no-shows, late cancellations, or other services related to crisis care, which by definition are unexpected and cannot be predicted for the purpose of compiling a Good Faith Estimate in advance.
  • May also include consultations with client collateral contacts, fees related to paperwork requests, and other legal and administrative fees related to client care, when such items are scheduled in advance.

As I am not in-network with insurance, I offer Good Faith Estimates that project out 12 months in advance. Together, we will collaborate and mutually determine the frequency of appointments and your estimate will give you a reasonable idea what to expect in terms of therapy costs for one whole year, based on my current rates.

As a private pay client, if you wish to receive a Good Faith Estimate, please let me know and I will work with you to obtain the best estimate based on your individual needs and update it as required by law.

I support my client's knowing their rights as they pertain to the No Surprises Act. If requested, make sure to save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate. You can find more information regarding Good Faith Estimates, your rights, or the dispute process here.
